“They’ve learned so many new skills”: California Students Qualify for State H2GP Final

Last weekend we were excited to witness the latest instalment of the Hydrogen Grand Prix (H2GP) educational program, where 30 school teams from Southern California qualified for the H2GP California Final, joining another 10 teams who already qualified from NorCal. The California Final will take place on the weekend of April 13th, 2024.

“This year when we had an all women’s team I learned the new skill of driving, and I taught the other women how to drive as well”, said a member of team Edison S of Edison High School.

The team reverse-engineered their own model fuel cell electric car before racing it against teams from across Southern California.

“Problem-solving, being innovators, being out-of-the-box-thinkers – these are some of the things we are trying to develop”, said Nicola Weiss, Executive Director of the H2GP Foundation. “They’ve learned so many new skills in such a short space of time.”
